The DSC900 provides security against vehicle-based terrorism or thefts for high-cycle locations such as the entrances to large office facilities, government agencies and military bases.

Able to be deployed in high traffic locations for full manual or automatic operation within two hours, Delta Scientific’s quick deployment modular Series DSC 900 Barricade features a phalanx-type rising plate barrier mounted within multiple inertial pods.

The plate barrier lies level to the ground to allow vehicles to pass and is raised or lowered into position utilizing a hydraulic cylinder driven by a Delta Hydraulic Power Unit or manually operated.

The weight of the Plate Barrier is balanced by a Hydraulic-pneumatic balance system (U.S. Patent # 5,560,733 dated 10/1/96).

The Hydraulic Pumping Unit can be sized to provide pass-through rates suitable for most inspection and identification station requirements.

The unfilled pods weigh less than 700 pounds (318 kg) and consist of a permanent steel housing back-filled with concrete either in situ or remotely.

Towable Units

Towable barricades answer the need of our clients that require a temporary barricade system to address a specific threat or secure the facility during special events.

Built at the request of U.S. Federal government force protection specialists for initial fast deployment use in Iraq and elsewhere, the totally self-contained MP5000 is towed into position and controls vehicle access within 15 minutes. Once positioned, the mobile barricade unpacks itself by using hydraulics to raise and lower itself off its wheels. The MP5000 is a K4 rated barricade.

The first commercial version of the MP5000, the DSC 1000, uses the company’s “Soft Stop” technology. Light enough to be towed by a golf cart and set up in only 10 minutes, the new DSC 1000 portable barrier has already passed an ASTM crash test in which it stopped a 5,000-pound (2300 kg) vehicle going 40 mph (64kph), providing it with an ASTM rating of P50. With no foundation or electrical hook-up needed, two people can set up and take down the new DSC 1000 barrier in ten minutes.
